LinkedIn Premium~200/week~28/day
Sales Navigator~200/week~28/day

Important Notes

  • • Limits are rolling 7-day windows, not calendar weeks
  • • New accounts may have lower limits until they build trust
  • • High acceptance rates can increase your limit over time
  • • Too many ignored/rejected requests decreases your limit

Message Limits

Messages to 1st-Degree Connections

You can message your connections freely, but there are soft limits:

  • ~100-150 messages/day is generally safe
  • • Sending 200+ in a day may trigger warnings
  • • Bulk identical messages get flagged as spam

InMail (Premium/Sales Navigator)

InMail lets you message non-connections, but has strict limits:

  • Premium Career: 5 InMails/month
  • Premium Business: 15 InMails/month
  • Sales Navigator Core: 50 InMails/month
  • Recruiter Lite: 30 InMails/month

Connection Request Messages

The message attached to connection requests has a 300 character limit. Keep it short and personal.

Search Limits

Account TypeMonthly Searches
Free LinkedIn~300-1000 (varies)
LinkedIn PremiumUnlimited
Sales NavigatorUnlimited + Advanced filters

When you hit your search limit on a free account, you'll see the "Commercial Use Limit" message. This resets at the end of your billing month.

Profile View Limits

LinkedIn doesn't publish official profile view limits, but based on community data:

  • Free accounts: ~80-100 profile views/day is safe
  • Premium accounts: ~150-200 profile views/day
  • Sales Navigator: ~250+ profile views/day

Viewing profiles too quickly (less than a few seconds each) can trigger detection. Add realistic delays.

Warmup Recommendations

New accounts or accounts that haven't been active should start slowly and ramp up over 1-2 weeks:

DayConnection RequestsMessages
Day 1-25-1010-15
Day 3-410-1520-30
Day 5-715-2040-50
Week 2+Full limit (~14-28/day)Full limit (~100/day)

What Happens When You Exceed Limits

Level 1: Soft Warning

You'll see a message like "You've reached the weekly invitation limit." Just wait and it resets.

Level 2: Temporary Restriction

Your ability to send connections/messages is restricted for 24-72 hours. Stop all activity and wait.

Level 3: Account Restriction

Longer restriction (1-2 weeks) or requirement to verify identity. Repeated violations can lead to permanent ban.
